I have learned to use the magnetic lasso tool. It helps you select parts of your image along lines with different colors. This makes it very helpful when eliminating backgrounds, because it greatly reduces the amount of time that this takes to do.
One feature I learned this week using photoshop was the slice tool which allows images to be broken up in smaller pieces making it load quicker on the web

Throughout the week I learned about the define pattern tool/edit. They I was able to apply this tool on my face. This allowed me to cover my face in the words that describe me, my family/friends, my hobbies and my education.

I learned about the canvas tool and how you can add more space to either side and that you have the ability to dictate exactly where you want more added. I found it really cool that I could select where the picture would grow.
One feature of Photoshop I had learned how to work with was the different Lasso tools including the Regular Lasso Tool, the Polygon Lasso Tool, and the Magnetic Lasso Tool. All were helpful in helping me to work with my photograph and edit it to the desired look.

One feature that I learned to use this week was the type tool. This tool allows you to type directly on your image. You can also change the font, size or color of the text.
I learned how to use the eyedropper tool. What it did was select any colored area in the photo and it gave you the exact color you pressed on. This was helpful because I used it to get the codes of the colors I used in my photo.
One feature I learned how to use the eyedropper tool and the paint bucket tool. I learned that they can be used together. The eyedropper tool picks up colors and the paint bucket tool puts that color where you want it to go.
This week I learned that in Photo Shop if you right click with the Magic wand tool you can select all parts of your image with the same color as the one you clicked on.
This week in photoshop I learned how to use the paint bucket tool. For the express yourself worksheet, you have to use the eye dropper tool to make a box a shade of gray from your face. At first the eye dropper tool did not work so I used the paint bucket tool.
I learned how to use the eye drop tool to copy the colors of my black and white face so I could type my words onto rectangles containing those colors to be later put onto my face.
One new thing that I learned is that when you select an area using the magic want tool you can tell it to pick up all of the similar colors to that one.
One feature I learned how to work this week was the select by color range tool. This was useful for when I had to copy and paste different shades of gray to new layers. What this tool does is that if you click on a color using the eyedropper tool, it selects all the other areas that contain that color.
This week I learned how to posterize images. To posterize is to give an image several regions of different shades of a certain color. In this case I made my image four shades of gray.
One feature that I learned how to use in Photoshop is to create a value scale and to then fill in that part of the picture which I found really neat when you can fill in that color with the words and it technically makes that part of the picture, the words.
One thing I learned how to do this week was learn how to put text on to make my photo black and white and add effects. I did this by going to image>mode>grey scale.
